Because Lamags told me I can’t argue chocolate or vanilla, I’m not really sure what I want to argue about for our inquiry contract paper. I’m thinking about either writing about abortion issues, in which I would argue why pro-abortion is wrong, or writing about a plan against terrorism.
If I decided to write about the abortion argument I will be able to have a lot of statistics and it would be pretty easy to interview people for quotes. I also want to think about a guys perspective of abortion, and discuss whether or not the male parent has a say in abortion because as far as I know they don’t.
The idea of terrorism and what we should do about it would be more difficult for me to write. I hate terrorism, but I don’t know much about it. I would have to do more research and it would be more difficult to come up with a solution and argue why it’s my plan would work. For right now I’m leaning more towards the abortion argument, but it may change depending on what I feel like writing about in the future.

Ethan-
You did a blog!!!!! I think you should go with the abortion issue. Terrorism, although it is a topic that has affected all of us and still is, would be extremely hard to write about. I think it might be hard for you to find two sides to the terrorist issue, but I don't really know, because I also do not know that much about it. Back to the abortion issue, I know today in class when you brought up what if the guy wants to keep the baby and the woman doesn't, and Christina and I flipped out at you. :-) But, now that I think about it, I think that the paper that you write would be really interesting. I don't think that I have ever heard a guy's prospective about abortion before. You will have no trouble finding information about both sides of this issue, and you will certainly have no problem writing 5 pages about an issue as big as this. Also, with the presidential election coming up soon, one of the big topics is abortion so that could be interesting to put in as well. I think that abortion would be a better and easier choice, but both issues are interesting.
So Kendal took the words right out of my mouth.
Writing a paper on abortion from a guy's perspective would be very interesting and a fresh idea. As you said, you could get multiple perspectives and appeal to ethos very well. This would be a great paper to incorporate the rhetorical triangle.
I think it would be interesting to explore abortion rights and get some input from parents, although they might yell at you like Christina and Kendal, and the rest of the girls in our class did. Google up the topic and see what responses you get.
And then in response to your other topic, I would probably stay away from it considering when you did research on it everything you read would probably be biased. The danger in that is your thesis could be shaped by other's opinions.
I think you should write a paper, especially as long as this on, on a topic that could potentially affect you on a personal level. Do what feels best to you.
Good luck!
